Pierre-Jean Sugier, Art advisor<\/span><\/h3>[vc_column_text animation_delay=”400″]With a background in art history, Pierre-Jean Sugier began his career in the heart of Parisian galleries before heading up the Centre d’Art Contemporain in Rueil-Malmaison for 6 years. At the turn of the 2000s, he became director of communications at the renowned H\u00f4tel Scribe, where he initiated a series of captivating exhibitions exploring photography and cinema.<\/p>\n

During this period, he established fruitful partnerships with institutions such as the Conservatoire du Littoral, the Maison Europ\u00e9enne de la Photographie and the Centre National de la Photographie. He has also launched the VISA collection in collaboration with \u00c9ditions Filigranes. From 2013 to 2023, he was Director of the Fernet-Branca Foundation, playing a key role in promoting contemporary art at regional level. He has also been an expert in contemporary art at the Colmar Court of Appeal since 2020.<\/p>\n

Today, Pierre-Jean Sugier works as an advisor to a group of Franco-Swiss collectors and is a distinguished independent curator. On the strength of this experience, he decided to launch his own art gallery, an evolving space where his artists can shine in a variety of contexts.<\/p>\n

Its primary aim is to engage a wide audience in a process of reflection around artistic creations that probe and confront the contemporary world in its many facets, be they economic, social, political, poetic or aesthetic.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row padding_bottom_multiplier=”3x”][vc_column]

About the gallery<\/span><\/h3>[vc_column_text]What exactly is a hybrid, nomadic gallery?<\/em><\/p>\n

P-J Sugier :<\/strong> The concepts of hybridisation and nomadism give a freer and more original form to the activity of gallery owner.<\/p>\n

Hybridization refers to marriages, alliances and unlikely partnerships that are put in place to give a new dynamism to the profession of gallery owner, but above all to attract a new audience and stimulate curiosity about creation in every possible field. The hybrid escapes all classification and therefore opens the door to greater freedom in our approach to the world.<\/p>\n

The concept of nomad is clearer. There are no specific venues, just meeting places and exchanges that can be cross-border, local or national. But also in spaces that allow professional hybridisation within companies, institutions or industrial wastelands…<\/p>\n

What is the aim of the gallery?<\/em><\/p>\n

P-J Sugier :<\/strong> Defending artists in the eyes of collectors and art lovers. Share their view of the contemporary world and compare it with economic, historical, social and political realities. Bringing together worlds that would otherwise be unlikely to know each other.<\/p>\n
